Jeezy Takes Personal Brand to New Heights With Digital Collectibles – The Hype Magazine

Today, it’s not enough for an artist to just create. In the music industry, singers, rappers, musicians, and even producers have to learn how to survive in the world of business and marketing. It’s one thing to create chart-topping and hot downloadable tracks, it’s another to become an entrepreneur with a unique, relatable brand. That brand can encompass just about anything — merchandise, personal appearances, interviews, fan exclusives. The trick is to be unique and different and offer fans something they can’t get anywhere else.

In addition to his success as a multiplatinum recording artist, Jeezy has embraced building his brand through custom clothing, podcasting and art endeavors, a line of fitness water (Defiance Fuel), a partnership with American Cut Steakhouse, and he maintains an ongoing partnership with Tequila Avion. He also hosts a talk show, Worth a Conversation with Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins, on FOX Soul.

Jeezy, who has released 10 studio albums, is taking a leap beyond traditional marketing and has partnered with Oasis Digital Studios and DreamView to release his Snowman logo on the new INFINITE NFT Marketplace as part of a limited-edition series of five animated and augmented reality-enhanced NFTs as an ode to his 2005 double-platinum album, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, which was the first album to feature the Snowman image.

“As an entrepreneur, I’m always looking for new opportunities, especially ones that help me connect with my fans,” said Jeezy. “The Snowman seemed like the right place to start. He’s been with me from the start.”

Jeezy’s Snowman logo has been a staple of his career since Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 dropped in 2005. Originally worn as a medallion, the Snowman design morphed into a simple sketch on a t-shirt, and it later became his signature icon. After Jeezy wore the design in multiple music videos, the t-shirt took off.

Fans and collectors can purchase and experience this AR-enhanced, 3D “Snowman” NFT through the Oasis Digital Studios storefront on the SUKU Infinite Marketplace. There will be 1,001 NFTs of each of the animated computer graphics and AR-customized Snowman logos available for $101 USD per digital image. Up to 30 fans who purchase an NFT will have the opportunity to win a personally autographed Jeezy album.

NFT, which stands for non-fungible token, is a form of cryptocurrency powered by blockchain technology. But digital certificate of authenticity would be a more accurate description. Often NFTs are purchased with cryptocurrency, and recently, digital artist Mike Winkleman, a.k.a Beeple, set a record at a Crypto Art Auction by selling a .jpg file for $69 million. A company called Injective Protocol burned an original Banksy painting worth $95,000 and streamed it live. The digitized image was sold as a digital “token” for $380,000. Dallas Mavericks owner and entrepreneur Mark Cuban used the occasion to launch his own NFT. An NFT can be attached to any digital file and and this digital certificate of authenticity serves as proof of purchase and ownership of that digital asset. 

As more and more people choose to collect digital art instead of owning physical assets, NFTs figure to continue to grow in popularity. And there is lot to be said for getting in on the ground floor of a movement.    

Now, Jeezy, who has sold 5 million records worldwide, is leveraging the innovative NFT solution from his partners at Oasis to offer fans a chance to own a multi-dimensional, minted version of his iconic symbol as a digital collectible. Oasis is developing these NFTs with cinema-level motion, sound and special effects that transform them into true collectibles. Each Oasis Cinematic and AR-enhanced NFT will come complete with an immersive experience through the Liquid Avatar platform, providing users the ability to showcase their NFTs in both the virtual and real world.

Jeezy and Oasis Digital Studios have plans to continue to leverage NFT technology to bring his extensive fanbase unique offerings within the expanding digital sphere.
