Due out to on-demand and digital outlets on April 20, 2021 via Samuel Goldwyn Films, The Marijuana Conspiracy was written and directed by Craig Pryce (Good Witch, The Dark) and stars Julia Sarah Stone (Honey Bee, Allure), Morgan Kohan (Star Trek: Discovery), Brittany Bristow (Good Witch), Tymika Tafari (Murdoch Mysteries) and Kyla Young (Alias Grace). As based on a true story, the film takes place in 1972, as 5 young women — looking for a fresh start in life — become part of a radical experiment studying the effects of weed on women. Despite the agendas of the local government, the 5 women use their unique strengths and friendship to overcome both personal and collective adversity.

A native of Toronto, Canada, Brittany Bristow began acting at the age of 6. At the age 12, after numerous national commercials, a television guest star appearance and 4 films, she auditioned for Canada’s National Ballet School. Upon acceptance, she put her acting career on hold to attend the prestigious program and complete her studies. Bristow eventually returned to the acting world and at the end of 2017, she accepted the Canadian International Faith & Family Film Festival Award for “Best Supporting Actress” for her portrayal of Johanna In Saul: The Journey To Damascus. Beyond working on multiple projects for the Hallmark Channel, Bristow starred in the TV series Rising Suns and has served as host of Wildlife Quest, a show created and produced with her family for National Geographic.

On April 15, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Brittany Bristow via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Bristow can be found here and here, while more on The Marijuana Conspiracy is online here, here and here and via all accounts belonging to Samuel Goldwyn Films.
